Peter B. Alexander is a near native of Urbana, having moved here with his family when he was
a small child. From his childhood days, when Peter built his own 'go-cart' from a broken chain
saw engine, to his selection as the Technician of the Year,
Peter has always strived to be the best automotive technician around. His almost 20 years of
automotive repair experience includes automotive work as a line mechanic at a dealership, heavy
equipment repair, and over 10 years of operating Peter B's Automotive. Peter received his Associates of Arts Degrees in Automotive Mechanics, and Farm and Diesel Equipment Mechanics, from Parkland College, Champaign, Illinois, in 1979. By 1984, Peter B's was in full time operation. With a rapidly increasing business, Peter soon realized that he would need a larger facility. In 1985, Peter purchased a steel framed building in Peoria and moved it to Urbana. In 1986, Peter built (doing a major portion of the construction himself) the first building at 509 North Lierman Ave. Peter B's opened for business at its existing location in October 1987. In 1995, he expanded the small shop to over 11,000 square feet, adding 5 vehicle bays, training facilities, larger parts room, technical library, special tool storage and electronics repair facility. |

"1990-1991 NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year." This one time honor was bestowed upon Peter after a rigorous competition between finalists chosen from all of the local NAPA dealers and distributors! |
